Ken Picton Salon in Cardiff are finalists in the L’Oreal Colour Trophy 2018. Started in 1954, the competition is the longest running live hairdressing competition in the world, and showcases some of the brightest hairdressing talents across the country while celebrating hair inspired by fashion.
Harriet Young, Salon Stylist is a L’Oreal ID Artist and this is her second consecutive time at the regional finals representing Ken Picton Salon. She says, “I’m so excited to reach the regional finals, it would mean so much to win the L’Oreal Colour Trophy. Last year was an amazing experience, and now I’m most looking forward to seeing the finished look on my model walking down the catwalk. I’ve had so many great experiences here at the salon, my absolute highlight has to be assisting Anthony Turner at London Fashion Week which was incredible and has really inspired me to relate fashion into my hair work. As well as working at the salon, I’m also a L’Oreal ID artist and I love every minute of it!”
Jade Pointon, Salon Director, is also a finalist and says, “It feels so exciting to have reached the regional finals! I’m really looking forward to the buzz of the semi finals and being part of a show with so much great talent. Winning would be a huge accolade both for myself and for the salon. I’ve been hairdressing for 16 years now and I love being a part of such a creative profession. I’m constantly inspired by my peers and the industry. I’m looking forward to my new hair journey at Ken Picton Salon.”
