The New-Look Ken Picton Salon Experience
Here are our new-look guidelines, so that you know what to expect now we have reopened .
-
The waiting area will be very limited and set up so there is no issue with self-distancing, but please be on time for your appointment. If you are running late, please call the salon. By the same token, we may be running a little late on occasion, so please bear with us if the salon asks you to come in 10 minutes later than your scheduled appointment time, as we cannot have congestion in the waiting area
-
Please use hand sanitiser provided.
-
You will be greeted by one of our salon hosts, who will guide you through the check-in process.
-
The cloakroom will be available, but clients are advised to bring as little as possible with them to their appointment.
-
Each client will be given a freshly laundered or disposable gown. No gowns will be re-used, and they will be laundered at 60°C.
-
Face masks are available for clients, should you require one. Current guidelines from the Welsh Government state that clients DO NOT need to wear face coverings but we want you to feel comfortable, and leave that decision up to you. This is under constant review and we will monitor the guidelines carefully.
-
All team members will be wearing visors while providing services. This is mandatory. They will also be using other PPE required as necessary.
-
We will limit and manage capacity in the salon to help support social distancing.
-
A one-way system has been implemented where practical, and team members will guide you through this process.
-
We will continue to use disposable towels and hand towels, as is normal practice for the salon.
-
Workstations will be assigned to one individual on a daily basis, with only alternate chairs being used.
-
Each workstation will be cleansed thoroughly between clients – as are hair tools – with Barbicide to ensure your safety.
-
Current Welsh guidelines state we can only offer bottled water initially. This is being reviewed constantly.
-
Your bill will, where possible, be settled prior to or before the completion of your services, to avoid congestion at the reception.
We are delighted that we have opened our doors again after such a long absence, and are looking forward to greeting you. Though things will be a little different, we hope you will still enjoy the service and experience you have grown accustomed to.
As some considerable time has passed since your last appointment, particularly with colour, it may take more than one visit to get to the colour you would like as we correct regrowth and, in some cases, some home attempts! You may decide that you would like a change in your colour or style – this can all be discussed on the day with your colourist/stylist during your initial consultation.
We shall continue to monitor guidelines from the Government, and take action, and will update you accordingly.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the salon soon.
Warm wishes and stay safe.
Ken Picton and all the team.
